This is a guide to TuneFace compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
Aging does not occur in just one layer. It progresses simultaneously from visible wrinkles to the invisible dermis and SMAS layer. Understanding what changes occur in which layer can change the approach to lifting. Let's organize it by layer.
Layers where aging progresses
Aging, which begins in the mid-20s, appears simultaneously in several layers.
- Epidermis: Wrinkles form and skin texture becomes rough.
- Dermis: Collagen and elastin decrease, leading to loss of elasticity.
- SMAS layer: It sags, leading to drooping and a double chin.
It is reported that aging progresses complexly in multiple layers, not just one.
How high-frequency waves work
High-frequency lifting is a method that stimulates the dermal layer, SMAS layer, and subcutaneous fat layer with thermal energy. It aims to restore elasticity to tired skin and simultaneously addresses fine wrinkles and enlarged pores.
Consult about which layer your aging problem is in
Reasons why a layer-by-layer approach is needed
| Layer | Main changes | Approach |
|---|---|---|
| Epidermis | Texture, fine wrinkles | Surface stimulation |
| Dermis | Decreased elasticity | Induce collagen regeneration |
| SMAS layer | Sagging | Deep layer stimulation |
The speed of aging, skin condition, and fat/muscle distribution vary from person to person. Therefore, there is no single lifting approach. Understanding the progression by layer and designing a complex treatment plan is important.
Who is it considered for?
- If you are concerned about wrinkles, sagging, and pores all at once
- If you managed only one area but were disappointed with the overall change in your impression
- If you are looking for a method with a fast recovery
If you approach aging, which occurs differently in each layer, with only one method, you are likely to be left with dissatisfaction. It can be helpful to undergo a diagnosis and design a treatment plan by layer. Results and suitability may vary depending on the individual.
