This is a guide to TuneFace compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
Many people feel that cosmetics or home care have limitations in improving sagging elasticity and begin to look into lifting procedures. However, when you actually look into it, there are so many types of equipment that it can be confusing to know which method is right for your concerns. In this article, we will summarize the differences in how TuneFace, V-3Deep, and InMode, which are often compared as radiofrequency devices, work.
What is the difference between radiofrequency and ultrasound?
Laser lifting is broadly divided into methods that use radiofrequency energy and methods that use ultrasound energy. The two methods act on different layers and produce different results.
- Radiofrequency: Stimulates the dermis to help collagen production, promoting volume and elasticity.
- Ultrasound: Often used for fat cell decomposition or SMAS layer stimulation.
Since each device utilizes different energy and has different strengths, complex concerns may be approached by combining several methods.
Three devices at a glance
| Device | Energy Method | Key Features |
|---|---|---|
| TuneFace | Combined radiofrequency + ultrasound | Patented frequency delivers uniform energy deep into the dermis |
| V-3Deep | Radiofrequency | Stimulates all skin layers, applicable to the neck area |
| InMode Forma | Radiofrequency | Delivers heat to epidermis and dermis, temperature controlled by thermal sensor |
TuneFace's approach
TuneFace is a combined radiofrequency and ultrasound method that delivers energy intensively to the desired skin layer. It is characterized by uniformly delivering energy in a short time based on a patented frequency. It is used to improve sagging elasticity and refine the face line.
Consult to find out which method is right for your skin
V-3Deep's approach
V-3Deep delivers stimulation to all layers at once, from the epidermis to the dermis, subcutaneous fat layer, and SMAS layer. It can be applied not only to the face but also to the neck, where wrinkles form as the skin thins, earning it the nickname 'Neck Lifting Laser'. It is designed to maintain a constant temperature with an automatic output control function.
InMode's approach
InMode Forma delivers radiofrequency heat to the epidermis and dermis to remodel tissues and aid collagen production. It is equipped with a thermal sensor to reduce the risk of burns. Thus, even with the same radiofrequency, there are differences in the depth of action and auxiliary functions.
What ultimately matters
Since all three devices have different pros and cons, the key is to choose the method that suits your skin condition and concerns. They can be used alone or in combination, so it is safer to decide after sufficient consultation. Results and suitability may vary depending on the individual.
