This is a guide to InMode Former compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
InMode is a radiofrequency-based lifting treatment, so the post-treatment care points differ from ultrasonic procedures. We have summarized the recovery process, what to be aware of, and how it differs from ultrasonic methods.
How InMode Works
InMode is a radiofrequency-based total face lifting treatment that targets double chin and cheek fat while improving elasticity. It is relatively favorable for those with more facial fat.
- Step 1: Increases deep tissue temperature to induce fat cell apoptosis.
- Step 2: Promotes collagen and elastin production in the dermis.
- Step 3: Acts on pigmentation and blood vessels to even out skin tone.
The treatment time is short, around 30 minutes, and daily life can be resumed quickly, making it a considered alternative for those who find surgery burdensome.
Burn Prevention Device
Since radiofrequency involves thermal energy, there may be concerns about burns. However, InMode operates with a system that checks skin temperature in real-time during the procedure to manage excessive heat. Nevertheless, individual responses may vary.

Post-Treatment Precautions
As it is a radiofrequency treatment, different care is required compared to ultrasonic procedures.
- Bruising may occur for 3-4 days after the procedure, so avoid important appointments.
- Avoid washing your face with cold water or applying cold compresses; wash with lukewarm water for one week.
- Apply plenty of moisturizing cream as your skin may become dry.
- Avoid excessive stimulation such as scrubs or massages.
Differences from Ultrasonic Methods
| Category | InMode | Ultrasonic Method |
|---|---|---|
| Basis | Radiofrequency (RF) | High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) |
| Primary Focus | Fat and elasticity | Dermis and SMAS layer |
| Best Suited For | Those with more facial fat | Those whose main concern is sagging |
If sagging is your main concern, ultrasonic methods such as Ultherapy PRIME may also be considered.
Conclusion
Even with the same InMode device, results can vary depending on facial structure and fat volume, and individual differences may occur. Please understand the post-treatment care in advance and consult with us to confirm if this method is suitable for you.
