This is a guide to Starwalker Toning compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
Skin concerns often don't end with just one issue. Therefore, it's common to use two or three types of care together rather than just one. This case is a record from a consultation where a patient with very tired skin and uneven pigmentation concerns like melasma, freckles, and blemishes received oxygen care and toning together.
The Role of Oxygen Care
Care based on high-concentration oxygen and negative ions works to revitalize tired skin. It is known to help manage reactive oxygen species involved in skin aging and addresses the following:
- Regeneration of damaged cells
- Soothing of problematic skin prone to breakouts
- Activation of collagen in the dermis
Procedure Steps
The care generally proceeded in the following order:
- Cleansing of waste products, fine dust, old dead skin cells, and makeup residue from pores.
- Delivery of a revitalizing ampoule with an oxygen gun to provide nourishment.
- Care using high-concentration oxygen and negative ions together.
Since the process involves cleansing pores first and then delivering nutrients, the depth of action differs from simply applying topical care.
The Direction of Oxygen Care
It works to help regenerate tired skin and add natural volume to sunken areas. It is also reported to help improve breakouts and even out uneven tone, leading to brighter skin. The appropriate cycle and frequency vary from person to person, so a separate care plan is established.

The Role of Toning for Pigmentation
The patient had prominent melasma and freckles due to sun exposure from frequent outdoor activities, as well as scars from self-extraction. Since there was a limit to covering these with makeup, the goal was to achieve clear, natural skin. Starwalker Toning was used in conjunction with other treatments.
Why Multiple Wavelengths are Used
Starwalker Toning is a method that utilizes multiple wavelengths to target pigmented lesions at various depths. It is known to work by selecting and using a total of four wavelengths tailored to the area of concern.
| Care | Main Action | Co-addressed Concerns |
|---|---|---|
| Oxygen Care | Regeneration, soothing, tone correction | Tired skin, breakouts |
| Starwalker Toning | Pigmentation at various depths | Melasma, freckles, blemishes |
Results of Combining the Two Cares
When oxygen care and toning are combined, you can expect to delicately treat the dermis, tighten enlarged pores, brighten the tone, and smooth rough skin texture. However, the response and degree may vary from person to person, so it is essential to first determine the combination and cycle suitable for your skin through a diagnosis.
When pigmentation and fatigue are present together, it may be more rational to combine different types of care rather than addressing everything with just one.

If pigmentation is your primary concern, you may also consider PicoSure toning or Discovery Ruby.
