If you have pigmentation, you might be familiar with the experience of your makeup becoming uneven and patchy over time. In particular, marks left after inflammation like acne subside do not disappear easily. Let's look at why pigmentation occurs and what laser principles are used to address it.

How Pigmentation Occurs
Pigmentation can occur when UV light stimulates melanin production. Another pathway is inflammation. When inflammation like acne occurs, the body produces melanin during the wound healing process, and if excessively produced, pigmentation remains. In childhood, it may return to the surrounding skin color over time, but as we age, regenerative capacity decreases, making it difficult for it to disappear easily.
Melasma, Freckles, and Lentigines are also Concerns
Pigmentation that appears suddenly, such as melasma, freckles, or lentigines, is also a concern.
- It can make you look older than you are.
- If left untreated, it may gradually darken.
- Some lesions, like lentigines, are difficult to remove.
Since the approach to pigmentation varies depending on its type and depth, it is necessary to first identify what type of pigmentation it is.
Principle of Targeting Only Pigmentation
This laser precisely irradiates by recognizing only pigmentation as a target. It uniformly delivers energy to the lesion area with a 532nm wavelength. It is not just one mode but is divided into three, allowing adjustment according to the state of the pigmentation.
Consult about your type of pigmentation
Cooling Method to Protect the Skin
With lasers, there can be concerns about normal skin damage due to high temperatures. By applying a contact cooling method, it maintains the set cooling temperature during treatment, protecting the surface. Thanks to the cooling technology applied to the handpiece, it helps reduce the burden of pain.
Technology to Protect Normal Blood Vessels
VSLS technology induces contraction of normal capillaries to prevent damage. It works by targeting only pigmented lesions and reducing adverse reactions such as facial redness. It goes through the process of imaging the target, supercooling it, recognizing it visually, and then outputting the laser.
At an Experienced Clinic
Even with a good laser, a thorough diagnosis is essential for treating pigmentation. It is important to confirm what kind of pigmentation problem it is, why this method is suitable, and to receive guidance on post-procedure care, such as UV protection.
If you are starting to worry about pigmentation, please inquire via chat consultation. Suitability can be confirmed through a consultation with Dr. Choi Byeong-geun.
