This is a guide to filler compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
More and more people want to improve their skin from within, rather than just covering up blemishes or wrinkles with makeup. In this article, we will discuss two frequently asked topics: Sculptra, which helps collagen production, and approaches to acne and scar care.

Why is home care not enough?
While consistent home care can lead to some improvement, structural changes like those related to pores or elasticity may show a noticeable difference when compared to professional treatments. Therefore, depending on your condition, medical intervention may be necessary.
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a treatment primarily composed of PLLA, which works by stimulating collagen synthesis around the injected area to promote self-generation.
- It has the characteristic of naturally increasing volume over time.
- It is reported to last for a relatively longer period compared to filler or Botox.
As it is a collagen-generating method, the timing and extent of experiencing the effects may vary from person to person.
How do we approach acne?
It is helpful to divide acne into inflammatory stages and scar/mark stages. At our clinic, we approach this by combining the following stages to reduce treatment time:
- First, we treat the inflammatory areas with Capri laser.
- Next, we manage any remaining red marks or scars.
Depending on your condition, we will recommend a suitable combination of methods, such as Capri Laser Red or Capri Laser Blue. If you are curious about which stage your current skin condition is in, you can check first through chat consultation.
First, confirm individual criteria
Everyone has different desired criteria, skin types, and current conditions. Therefore, it is important to have an accurate check-up and then create a customized plan.
In summary
Sculptra and acne care have different goals and approaches, so determining the appropriate sequence and combination for your condition is key. Suitability and results may vary from person to person, so please clarify any questions you have through chat consultation and confirm the direction during a consultation with Dr. Choi Byeong-geun.
