This is a guide to Cryo-Calming Care compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
In the hot and humid summer, excessive sebum and enlarged pores can be a concern. When skin heated by sunlight and the dryness of an air-conditioned indoor environment alternate, the skin's condition can easily fluctuate due to temperature differences. This article summarizes care directions for lowering skin temperature and managing sebum in the summer.
What Happens When Skin Temperature Rises
In summer, skin can easily overheat.
It is known that if skin temperature rises by 1 degree Celsius, sebum secretion increases by about 10%.
- When the temperature rises, pores expand, and the moisture inside evaporates with it.
- When moisture is lost, fine lines can easily form.
- Sweat and waste products accumulate, blocking pores and leading to skin troubles.
Precautions for Home Care
Exfoliation and moisturizing care at home are fundamental.
- Large-grain scrubs can damage the skin, so it is best to avoid them.
- Gently exfoliate with products that do not contain grains.
- Maintain moisture and elasticity with moisturizers to balance sebum.
If home care alone is not enough, you may consider professional care. If you are curious about the method suitable for your skin type, please check by consulting for summer skin care.
Cryo-Calming Care
Cryo-calming care is a treatment that cools the skin surface with low-temperature shockwave vibrations.
- It gently cools the skin surface to sub-zero temperatures.
- It helps deliver medication by flowing medium-frequency current through the cooled skin.
- It is a method that can be expected to provide calming and regeneration.
It is reported to be applicable to sensitive skin, such as skin with strong heat, acne-prone, or atopic skin.
Cooling Modeling Care
The final step adds a cooling modeling pack. For more details, please refer to Modeling.
- It helps provide appropriate tension and contraction to the skin.
- It helps calm down skin that is prone to heat.
- It focuses on moisturizing and calming.
LED Regeneration Care
Finally, specific wavelengths of LED light sources are used. For more details, please refer to Regeneration Laser.
- It promotes biochemical reactions within the skin to aid in calming.
- It is reported to help in the production of collagen and elastin.
- It is also used for elasticity management and prevention of fine lines.
To Proceed Safely
When choosing a treatment, it is good to consider the following:
- Check if there is sufficient experience and treatment know-how.
- See if a step-by-step treatment program is in place.
- Carefully compare the equipment used.
Summer skin care can be tricky, but by lowering the temperature and focusing on calming, you can stabilize your skin's condition significantly. If you are curious about the combination that is right for you, please feel free to inquire by asking about summer care combinations.
