This is a guide to Thermage FLX compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
While an increase in wrinkles and a decrease in elasticity are natural changes, various factors can accelerate them. We have compiled frequently asked questions about why elasticity decreases and how Thermage FLX addresses it.

Why does skin elasticity decrease?
The biggest cause is aging. As we age, cell regeneration ability declines, and collagen and elastin production decreases, leading to thinner skin and wrinkles. Other factors also play a role:
- UV rays create active oxygen, accelerating aging.
- Stress and irregular eating habits have an impact.
- Dry environments deprive the skin of moisture, highlighting fine wrinkles.
- Repetitive facial expressions create wrinkles in specific areas.
If family members experience rapid aging, there may be a genetic influence.

How does Thermage FLX work?
It uses high-frequency current to generate heat deep within the skin, not just on the surface, to induce collagen regeneration. It uniformly delivers energy to regenerate collagen in the dermis layer and also delivers heat to the subcutaneous fat layer, helping to address sagging skin and provide tightening.

Does it take a long time?
If the tip area is small, it can take a long time, but Thermage FLX has a wide tip area, so the procedure time is not long. An automatic adjustment algorithm delivers energy according to the areas that need improvement.
Consult to see if it's right for your area
Is it very hot or painful?
Since it uses high-frequency, you might be concerned about the heat. However, there is a skin surface cooling system that protects the surface and works to reduce the burden of pain.
Why is home care difficult?
Collagen and elastin are mainly in the dermis layer, making them difficult to address with home care that only acts on the epidermis. Furthermore, some people unknowingly continue with incorrect methods. It is better to check your skin type and the areas that need improvement before starting. However, suitability and the number of sessions vary from person to person.
If you are concerned about changes in elasticity, please inquire via consultation chat. Suitability can be confirmed through a consultation with Dr. Choi Byeong-geun.
