This is a guide to GentleMax Pro Plus hair removal compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
Many people put off hair removal until summer, but it's actually more advantageous to start hair removal in the colder months. This is because it needs to be done over several sessions. This article explains why it's good to start in winter, and also covers men's beard hair removal.
It's best to start hair removal early
Hair removal is not a one-time treatment.
- It is performed once a month for a minimum of 5-6 sessions.
- If you want to have plenty of time before summer, it's best to start early.
- Dividing it into sessions ensures stable results.
Why are colder seasons advantageous?
UV exposure affects the treated area.
In summer, UV rays are strong, making skin problems such as hyperpigmentation or folliculitis more likely to occur on exposed arms and legs.
- Seasons with less exposure are more favorable for treatment.
- It's easier to protect the treated area from UV rays.
- You can complete the sessions with plenty of time before summer.

How laser hair removal works
Lasers selectively target hair follicles.
- It targets desired hair follicles with dual wavelengths of 755nm and 1064nm.
- This method reduces thermal damage to surrounding normal tissue.
- Air cooling alleviates pain and the risk of burns.
Since it doesn't directly touch the skin, it's also reassuring in terms of hygiene.
Men's beard hair removal
It's now an era where men also seek hair removal.
- It reduces the hassle of daily morning shaving.
- Beard hair removal creates a cleaner impression.
- The number of sessions is adjusted depending on the area and hair quality.
Precautions before treatment
Please observe the following before receiving treatment.
- Shave 1-2 days beforehand to trim only the length.
- Do not pluck hair with tweezers or wax.
- Avoid tanning during the treatment period.
Precautions after treatment
Care continues after the treatment.
- Apply the prescribed ointment for 3-4 days.
- Do not scratch for 2-3 days, even if it's itchy.
- Do not pluck shedding hair, and apply sunscreen thoroughly.
To have a comfortable summer, it's best to start early in the colder months. If you're curious about the best time to start and the number of sessions for you, please feel free to inquire via Ask about my hair removal plan.
