This is a guide to filler compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).

As non-incisional procedures like Botox and filler have become more popular, more people are looking for relatively simple ways to refine their appearance. Today, we will summarize frequently asked questions about filler, along with precautions to take before and after the procedure.

What is a filler procedure?

Filler, as the name suggests, is a method of adding volume to the face by filling in sunken areas.

  • It is used to smooth out wrinkles by injecting it into wrinkled areas.
  • It is also used to add dimension to sunken areas.
  • You can expect relatively immediate changes.

In the case of hyaluronic acid filler, it is known that it can be dissolved again after the procedure, making correction and restoration possible.

How do filler types differ?

Different filler products are used depending on the manufacturer and the area.

  • Each product has different duration and characteristics.
  • It is difficult to judge good or bad based solely on price.
  • It is important to inject accurately at the appropriate depth according to the area and skin type.

Since the appropriate filler differs depending on the area and purpose, a consultation with Dr. Choi Byeong-geun is necessary to confirm this. If you have questions about filler, please inquire via chat.

Precautions after the procedure

(1) Do not touch the treated area.

Applying physical pressure to the injected area may cause the shape to change. It is best to avoid touching it if possible, and to refrain from sleeping face down or strenuous exercise for a while. If you have had nose filler, also avoid wearing glasses and sunglasses for a while.

(2) Avoid saunas and public baths for a while.

It is best to avoid high-temperature places such as jjimjilbangs (Korean saunas), saunas, and hot yoga for a while.

(3) No alcohol or smoking

Alcohol and tobacco can cause inflammation, so it is best to avoid them for a certain period, and managing your condition is also important.

(4) Bruising and swelling may occur.

Swelling generally subsides within a few days, but there may be individual differences. A blunt-tipped cannula may be used to reduce bruising.

In summary

Filler is a beneficial procedure, but satisfactory results depend on thoroughly understanding the precautions before and after. Rather than proceeding excessively, it is important to approach it according to your own condition. If you have any questions, please feel free to inquire via chat consultation.
