This is an Aqua Peel guide compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
If old dead skin cells and waste products accumulate, it can be difficult for active ingredients to penetrate deeply, even with thorough basic skincare. This is because the absorption rate itself decreases. Therefore, we received two treatments together: first, clearing the pores, and then addressing pigmentation that creates a dull tone.
Why the order of clearing and brightening?
After consulting and clarifying the roles of the two procedures, the order felt natural.
| Step | Procedure | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Clearing | Aqua Peel | Removes dead skin cells, sebum, and waste products |
| Brightening | StarWalker Toning | Cares for pigmented lesions |
It is said that it is common to proceed with a combination of treatments, as clearing the pores first makes it easier for subsequent care to be delivered.

Pores addressed by Aqua Peel
Aqua Peel is a name combining "aqua" and "peeling." It involves allowing a special, low-irritation solution to penetrate deep into the pores to dissolve and remove dead skin cells, waste products, sebum, blackheads, whiteheads, and even demodex mites.
- A method that does not add significant irritation
- Can be applied to sensitive skin
- Short recovery time, allowing for quick return to daily life
Even though my skin was sensitive, I was relieved that no redness appeared after the care. However, individual responses may vary.

The next step after clearing pores
After clearing pores with Aqua Peel, it was common to proceed with care that supplemented the deficiencies. Aqua Peel often creates synergy when combined with other methods, so I received StarWalker Toning next to address pigmented lesions that dull the skin tone.
If you are curious about which order is right for your skin, please inquire first via consultation chat.
Reasons for pigmented lesions
Pigmented lesions can appear due to excessive activation of melanin cells caused by various factors such as UV exposure, hormonal changes, and aging. They can lead to melasma, freckles, blemishes, as well as spots or age spots. Since the causes and depths vary, care that considers the characteristics of the pigmentation, rather than a uniform approach, was necessary.

Selecting wavelengths to approach pigmentation
StarWalker Toning can utilize various wavelengths, making it easy to approach pigmentation at different depths. It was possible to customize the approach by selecting the energy level and mode, considering skin type, tone, pigmentation location, and the presence of nearby blood vessels. The uniform delivery of laser energy to each skin layer, considering both efficiency and safety, was impressive.
The flow when received together
After clearing the pores and then addressing pigmentation, each step served as a foundation for the next. However, the appropriate combination and order depend on the skin condition, so I felt that the process of planning through consultation was important.
If you are curious about the combination and order that are right for your skin, please check via consultation chat. You can also look at StarWalker Toning that we saw together, or another cleansing method, Hydro Peel.
