When considering both fat reduction and elasticity enhancement, we have compared and summarized the respective roles of InMode's three modes.

This is a guide to InMode FORMA compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station, Exit 1).

As we age, collagen and elastin decrease, and facial muscle mass also diminishes, weakening the skin's support and often leading to sagging. I started to notice a double chin and sagging cheeks as fat shifted downwards, and even with makeup, my facial lines didn't look neat, so I decided to get a consultation.

InMode's Two Handpieces

InMode was a device that offered two solutions, FX and FORMA, allowing for both fat reduction and elasticity enhancement. It is said to deliver energy to deep layers that are difficult for general lasers to reach, reducing unnecessary fat while inducing collagen remodeling. The fact that it received U.S. FDA approval also helped in my decision.

The most impressive aspect was that one device could address both sagging and fat simultaneously.

Role of Each Mode at a Glance

The roles of each mode, as I summarized them during the consultation, were as follows:

ModeMain RoleFor these concerns
FORMAActivates collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid with RF heatFine lines, pores, elasticity
MiniFXForms holes in fat cell membranes to destroy cellsDouble chin, deep cheek fat, chubby cheeks
FXContouring through deep-layer energy deliverySimultaneous fat and elasticity

Since there are two handpieces, it was good that I could proceed with a combination tailored to me and receive a personalized one-on-one design.

Radiofrequency and Temperature Management

InMode lifting delivers high-frequency energy to the SMAS layer through high-voltage electrical stimulation. It is said to raise the surface temperature to about 43 degrees Celsius with multi-polar RF energy, promoting collagen production in the dermis. I was worried that the temperature might be too high due to the radiofrequency, but I was much relieved to hear that it checks the epidermal temperature 1,000 times per second, reducing the risk of burns, blisters, and pain.

Elasticity and Pores Treated with FORMA

FORMA is said to activate not only elastin and collagen but also hyaluronic acid, which plays an important role in hydration, using high-frequency thermal energy. These cells support elasticity and prevent sagging, but as we age, they can decrease, leading to wrinkles and sagging. When elasticity declines, not only the skin but also pores become noticeable. This area was also helped with improvement, and the recovery was relatively quick, so there was less burden.

You can comfortably inquire via chat consultation if you have any questions.

Double Chin Treated with MiniFX

MiniFX was a contour lifting treatment that helped with double chin, deep cheek fat, and chubby cheeks. It works by forming holes in fat cell membranes with electrical stimulation to destroy the cells. I was worried if they might return, but it is said that destroyed cells do not regenerate. However, the degree of change may vary individually.

What Concerns Is It Suitable For?

It is said to be popular among those who want a double chin or a clear jawline, those concerned about sagging cheeks or jowls, and those who want to improve fine lines, pores, and skin texture. However, the mode configuration varies depending on skin condition, so I felt it was better to consult with a clinic with extensive clinical experience rather than making a judgment alone.

If you're curious about which mode combination is right for you, check the InMode mode configuration through consultation. If you're curious about the standard configuration, you can also check out InMode FORMA+FX standard, and for FX alone, InMode FX.
