This is a guide to TuneFace, compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes' walk from Konkuk Univ. Station, Exit 1).

Many people want to know what changes to expect before and after a lifting procedure. TuneFace combines radiofrequency and ultrasound, so we often receive questions about the reactions that appear after the procedure. We've gathered and summarized the most common questions.

What is the principle behind TuneFace?

TuneFace uses 40.68MHz radiofrequency energy to stimulate the dermis and promote collagen regeneration.

  • Radiofrequency energy helps regenerate and rearrange collagen in the dermis, improving elasticity.
  • Ultrasound energy addresses localized fat, refining sagging jaw and cheek lines.

Unlike previous methods that only stimulated the epidermis, TuneFace is reported to deliver energy uniformly using a fractional method.

Is the procedure painful?

TuneFace uses a dual cooling system that combines ice-contact cooling and Prime Vacuum, maintaining a low skin surface temperature during the procedure. It creates a vacuum in the treated area to help reduce pain. However, the perceived sensation may vary from person to person.

Will there be marks left after the procedure?

Due to the nature of radiofrequency lifting, temporary reactions may occur.

ReactionTypical course
Skin heat sensation, erythemaUsually subsides within 2-3 days after the procedure
Some bruising, swellingUsually improves within a few days
Vacuum marksRecovers within 3-4 days depending on skin type, or within a week at the latest

Vacuum marks are not a side effect, and their occurrence and extent vary depending on skin type. However, the course may differ for each individual.

When do changes become visible?

Changes from TuneFace are gradual. Noticeable changes generally begin to appear in earnest after approximately 2-4 weeks, and the duration of maintenance is reported to vary depending on the number of shots and energy used.

How often should I receive the treatment?

The intensity can be adjusted depending on the type of handpiece, so a single treatment is possible, but to reduce skin burden, it is sometimes divided into sessions at 3-4 week intervals. Generally, periodic treatment every 6 months to 1 year is recommended. It is safer to determine an exact plan through consultation.
