This is a guide to TuneFace compiled by Dr. Choi Byeong-geun of SHINE U Clinic Konkuk (3 minutes walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 1).
It is rare for sagging to occur in only one area. Changes such as blurred eyes, drooping corners of the mouth, and a dull jawline often appear simultaneously. Here, we will gather and organize frequently asked questions about such complex sagging in multiple areas.
Can one device solve everything?
Since each device works on different layers and with different energies, it can be challenging to approach complex sagging with only one method.
- Ultherapy: Uses ultrasound to deliver energy to the SMAS layer, addressing elasticity in the deep layers.
- TuneFace: Uses high-frequency waves to stimulate the dermal layer, refining lines and promoting tightening.
It is reported that deep-layer sagging and superficial texture/lines require different approaches.
What's different about using two devices together?
The combination of Ultherapy and TuneFace is sometimes called 'TuneSera'. While Ultherapy lifts elasticity from deep within, TuneFace refines the facial lines smoothly. This combination is complementary as their working layers do not overlap.
Consult to find out which layer your sagging is related to
I'm curious about the principle of TuneFace.
TuneFace works by rapidly rotating water molecules within the skin to generate thermal energy. It uses a 40.68MHz wavelength, known to be suitable for collagen regeneration, to strengthen the skin barrier and promote elasticity. It is characterized by its combined use of high-frequency and ultrasound mechanisms.
| Category | Ultherapy | TuneFace |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | Ultrasound | High-frequency + Ultrasound |
| Main working layer | SMAS layer | Dermal layer |
| Expected role | Deep layer elasticity | Line refinement · Tightening |
Who is it considered for?
- Those who are concerned about their eyes, jowls, and double chin simultaneously.
- Those who were disappointed with the overall impression change after managing only one area.
- Those who want natural contour restoration without implants.
Complex sagging is often difficult to address all at once with self-care or a single treatment. It can be helpful to first get a diagnosis of which layer is problematic and then design a treatment plan. Suitability and results may vary by individual.
